ARHAI Scotland 2023 Annual Report

  18 October 2024

This report highlights some of the major initiatives that ARHAI Scotland has carried out in 2023 to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), reduce healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs), and promote infection prevention and control (IPC). Information is given regarding important healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs), which pose a risk to patient safety and can increase morbidity and mortality in a population that is already at risk. This paper also outlines the ways in which IPC professionals from ARHAI Scotland have strengthened IPC in the healthcare built environment by supporting NHS Scotland Assure’s 2023 strategy.
